I graduated from St. Mary's College in Moraga CA in 1991 with my Bachelor of Science in nursing. I also obtained my Public Health Nurse license at the same time. I have spent the last 30 years in acute care hospitals working in either Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit.
I became interested in cannabis nursing about 3 years ago when I realized people were seeking to use cannabis as medicine with zero medical oversite. I looked at it through the lens of a public health nurse and felt it was a public health issue. I started studying medical cannabis, I attended a few cannabis nurse conferences, and received a Certificate of Cannabis Nursing from Pacific College of Health and Science.
I started Corporation and am currently doing business as Cannabis Nurse Advisor. My goal is to educate health care providers and consult with patients so they can safely use cannabis as medicine.
I developed a curriculum for health care professionals or any cannabis advocate, and I do weekly Zoom webinars.
I am a provider through California State Board of Registered Nurses and can grant Continuing Education units for nurses that attend my webinar. I am currently working on designing a curriculum specific for budtenders, so they can understand the science of cannabis.
